Downloading from Eden Books

When you purchase an eBook, you can download it for Amazon’s Kindle (as a MOBI file), or for any other device (as an EPUB file). Books can only be downloaded from password protected accounts on the Eden Books site.

After purchasing an eBook from our website, you will be emailed with an invoice that includes a download link. You will be directed back to your Eden Books account to enter your password. Books can only be downloaded from password protected accounts on the Eden Books site. Your device or internet browser may ask you what program it should use to open the eBook file, or where it should save it. If you do not get this message, check the default ‘Downloads’ folder on your computer or device – the file may have been saved there automatically.

Alternatively, if you are on a desktop computer, right-click the download link in your email, and select ‘Save Link As …’ or ‘Save Target As …’. Save the eBook to your preferred location. Once you have saved the eBook file, you can open it in your preferred reading app.

 READING YOUR EBOOK

You will need an eBook reading application on your device or computer in order to open your eBook. We recommend some popular – and free – eBook reading apps below. Install an app, download your eBook, and then open the eBook in your reading app.

iBooks for iOS (i.e.: iPhone, iPad, iMac only)
Google Play Books for iOS

Amazon Kindle (check “documents” section for downloaded books)

READING YOUR EBOOK ON A COMPUTER (PC and iMAC)

You will need an eBook reading application on your device or computer in order to open your eBook. We recommend some popular – and free – eBook reading apps in the list above. Install an app, download your eBook, and then open the eBook in your reading app.

MOBI DOWNLOAD

To read an eBook in the Kindle app on an Android or Samsung device, you will need to email the MOBI file to your unique ‘Send to Kindle Email address’ that Amazon assigns the Kindle app on your device. Please Amazon’s guide for locating your Kindle email address.

Your eBook will now be added to your Kindle Library on this device – please note that it may take several minutes for the eBook to sync to your Library. In the Kindle app on your device, under the heading of ‘Library’, select ‘All Items’. Your eBook should now be available to open and read in the Kindle app on your device.

iPHONE or iPAD via Kindle App

Click on the download link. You can either “Open in Kindle” OR select “More” then “Send to Kindle”. You can also select “More” then “Save to Files” and email the book to your Kindle email address. Please note there may be a delay in your book syncing to your app or Kindle device. Books may appear under the “docs” option on your Kindle/Kindle app.

KINDLE DEVICES

ALL USERS

To download your MOBI formatted book to your Kindle FROM YOUR COMPUTER OR MOBILE DEVICE

  • Download the file and save to your computer (laptop/desktop) or your file manager folder (mobile devices)
  • Email the file as an attachment to your Kindle email account (to find your Kindle address please go to https://www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle/email for instructions)
  • Look under “DOCS” on your Kindle or Kindle app
  • Open file on Kindle or Kindle app

**Please note that it may take several minutes for the eBook to sync to your Library.

EPUB DOWNLOAD

iPHONE, iPAD, iMAC, MACBOOK (iOS)

Click on the download link for the EPUB file and select “Open in iBooks”.

If you are using an iMac or MacBook and don’t receive an “Open in iBooks” prompt, save the EPUB file locally to your computer, and then open your eBook in the iBooks app.

If you are using the Mail or Gmail app on an iPhone or iPad and don’t receive an “Open in iBooks” prompt, you will need to open the link in Safari (or another browser), and then select “Open in iBooks”.

If you still don’t receive an “Open in iBooks” prompt, save the EPUB file locally to your computer, and then open your eBook in the iBooks app. Connect your device to the computer with a USB cable. Open the iTunes app on your computer, and sync your device with iTunes. Your eBook will now be available in the iBooks app on your device.

ANDROID OR SAMSUNG

For Android or Samsung phones and devices, download the EPUB file and open your eBook your chosen eBook reading application. Popular eBook reading apps for Android include Google Play Books for Android and Kobo.  It is also possible to read MOBI files with the Amazon Kindle app for Android. We highly recommend using the Prestigio app or reading either EPUB or MOBI formatted books from your Android device.

Google Play Books for Android

You can read EPUB documents with Google Play Books. You may find it easier to upload files to your library from computer, rather than from a device. Click on the download link for the EPUB file. Your device or internet browser may ask you what program it should use to open the eBook file, or where it should save it. If you do not get this message, check the default ‘Downloads’ folder on your computer or device – the file may have been saved there automatically.

  1. On your computer, visit Google Play Books.
  2. Login and click ‘My Books’.
  3. Near the top right of your screen, click Upload files.
  4. Find the EPUB file you want to upload and click Select.
  5. Files will appear in your library under ‘All Books, ‘My Books’ and/or ‘Uploads’.
  6. You can now start reading your eBook.

To read you eBook on another device, simply login to the same Google account on that device, and then open Google Play Books.

Kobo app for Android

Click on the download link for the EPUB file. Your device may ask you what program it should use to open the eBook file, or where it should save it. If you do not get this message, check the default ‘Downloads’ folder – the file may have been saved there automatically.

  1. Open the Kobo app on your device. In the main menu of the app, select ‘Import Items’.
  2. The Kobo app will scan your device and prompt you to import any eBooks saved on your device.
  3. Browse to your Library in the Kobo app, you can now open and read your eBook.

NOOK, KOBO, ETC

Download the EPUB file to your computer, connect your Nook (or other device) with the USB cable, and you should see a new drive or device called something like MyNookColor. If you have an SDCARD in your Nook, you’ll also see an SDCARD. Copy the EPUB file to the MyNookColor/my files/books folder. You should now see the book in your collection and be able to begin reading.

GOOGLE PLAY BOOKS 

You can read EPUB documents with Google Play Books. You may find it easier to upload files to your library from a computer, rather than from a device.

  1. Go to Google Play Books.
  2. Login and click ‘My Books’.
  3. Near the top right of your screen, click Upload files.
  4. Find the EPUB file you want to upload and click Select.
  5. Files will appear in your library under ‘All Books, ‘My Books’ and/or ‘Uploads’.
  6. You can now start reading your eBook.

To read you eBook on another device, simply login to the same Google account on that device, and then open Google Play Books.
